  1. We are investigating a possible attack on the ArtByte Blockchain. The blockchain has been frozen and no transactions will be processed. ArtByte has several security protections in place to mitigate damage. Our developers are working to resolve the issue and bring the blockchain network back online. Additionally the Twitter and Reddit tipping apps will be temporally closed.
  2. Mandatory wallet update

Following the attack on the ArtByte blockchain and the fix we applied, it is mandatory to upgrade to the new wallet, version The old wallets will not connect to the blockchain. Of course, as with any software upgrade, it is always best to backup your data. To backup your existing ArtByte wallet, look in the top left hand corner and click "file", then click "backup wallet". Close your existing wallet and download and install the new wallet. You can download the wallets here: https://github.com/AppleByteMe/AppleByte/releases
  3. Mandatory wallet update

You have to upgrade to the new wallet. Go here and pick the right OS you need: https://github.com/AppleByteMe/AppleByte/releases Once you install the new wallet, it will take a few minutes to connect to the blockchain for the first time.
  4. The 2018 Summer Tipping Festivals on Twitter & Reddit have ended, Fall Festivals will begin Sept 4th.
  5. No, we can not freeze the blockchain. What I meant was that the attack froze the blockchain. ArtByte has no central nodes. Mining is controlled by independent miners, including solo miners and pools, just like Bitcoin.
  6. Because we created a new Checkpoint key, it in v0.13.1.0, it will be a little slower to connect to the network at first, but it will connect.
  7. If you go to the wallet in your browser and see this message, you are using the online wallet. We have not released the fix for that yet, but will soon. If you use the online wallet, you do not need to upgrade that, because we will.
  8. The blockchain works as expected now. We have sent the updates to the exchanges and are compiling the new Win and MAC wallets. Please upgrade your wallets, as we release the new executables. The new release is v0.13.10. You can get them here: https://github.com/AppleByteMe/AppleByte/releases We will next upgrade our tipping apps and the online wallet.
  9. As we announced previously, the ArtByte Foundation will be offering free profiles/galleries to artists and fans. Artists typically pay $5 - $30 a month for profile listings on art related sites. So this will be a significant cost savings to our users. The profiles are available to all members of the ArtByte community, both artists and fans. Artists can upload images, videos, and audio files. In addition to the site being free for members, artists will be able to receive tips, and sell their work for ArtBytes. This feature will be live in the next few weeks The profiles are now in Beta and we are asking artists and fans to test the application by creating profiles, uploading files if you are an artist, noting friends, making comments, etc. Also let us know additional features you would like There is a simple registration/login form here: https://www.artbyte.me/wp-login.php When you create a profile, your personal web site address will be in the form of www,artbyte.me/your_member_name. To view activity and interact with others, you can go here: https://www.artbyte.me/members/
  10. We have applied a fix to the ArtByte blockchain code and provided it to several miners. The blockchain is now unfrozen, as you can follow in the explorer. The attack had frozen the blockchain at block 1095079. As you can see on the explorer, we are now at 1095411, and new blocks are being found as they normally would. We will be watching this over the next 24hrs and if all is working correctly, we will send the updated code to the exchanges next. http://explorer.artbyte.me/blocks The Twitter and Reddit tipping apps will still remain temporally closed.
  11. We are working on the issue. See this post:

  21. I am guessing that the blockchain file on your 1st computer has become corrupted. Remember the real data is data is stored on the network, so when you logged in with your new computer it showed the got the correct data from the network.
  22. No transaction is on the blockchain explorer for this ID. In your wallet click on the Transaction Tab, find the stuck transaction, right click on it and then chose "Abandon Transaction". Then send it again.
  23. Registering doesn't tell us anything. For you artists who have registered, please upload your images. We are working on the layout design. A blank registered account does not help test it.
